The Obama street team has been to our door twice in the last two days. My wife keeps getting door duty since I’ve been playing with my son each time they come. She’s played both the “independent” card and the “yeah, whatever, I support you card,” but they keep coming.
My proposal for next time, should they (hopefully) catch me:
“Hi. Thanks. I’m a registered Libertarian. I disagree with your candidate on nearly every possible level. His foreign policy is abominable, relying largely on misdirection (in the case of the Benghazi attacks), drone strikes (in the case of Pakistan) and assassination of American citizens without trial. His economic policy is abominable, relying on corporatism to support administration-favored businesses. His message to Colorado voters is abominable, focusing mainly on birth control, which seems to paint women as stupid, single-issue voters who have no concept of what is happening in the world around them. Don’t get me wrong: I have a laundry list of problems with Mitt Romney, but the issue at hand is your inability to see even the most basic of ramifications of your support of your candidate. Please take a moment and consider anything, really: lawless war in Libya, continued war in Afghanistan, directionless economic policy in America, corporatism. Any of these on their own is enough to disqualify a candidate in my mind. Your candidate holds these up as the centerpieces of his campaign. Why, again, should I vote for him?”
Pardon the rage-typing, but there are people that actually support this man or his opponent?
